Bun Club is a fictional smash-burger restaurant in Cologne – started as a food truck in 2019, now with two kitchens – serving dry-aged Eifel beef, potato buns from the bakery next door and hand-cut fries. The demo shows how a fast-food brand can move orders onto its own website, with a “build your burger” order flow, clear pickup times and bookings for groups and birthdays.
The problem this website solves
Fast-food businesses pay big commissions to delivery platforms and still struggle to build a direct relationship with customers. Their own websites often show a PDF menu and a phone number, while customers want to order in seconds on a phone. This design makes ordering part of the page: pick the base, add toppings, see the price grow, pay online and pick up hot in about eight minutes.
Key features in detail
1. Build-your-burger order builder
The builder starts with a double smash burger (potato bun, two beef patties, club sauce) at €8.90 and lets customers add Extras (American cheese €1, bacon €1.80, third patty €2.50, fried egg €1.20), Toppings (pickles and onions free, jalapeños €0.60, caramelised onions €0.80), Sides (fries €3.90, sweet potato fries €4.50, onion rings €4.20) and Drinks (craft cola €3.20, salted caramel shake €4.90). The total updates instantly; with the pre-selected cheese and fries it shows €13.80. A note explains that the beef can be swapped for a vegan patty at no extra cost and a gluten-free bun costs €1 more. Building a burger is fun, and customers who play with options tend to order more.
2. A short menu with big flavours
“Short menu. No shortcuts.” The classic smash (€9.90, bestseller), hot honey crispy chicken (€10.50), a vegan green smash (€10.20), hand-cut fries, shakes and a kids menu (€7.50) are presented with clear labels like “Spicy” and “Vegan”. Vegan patty and gluten-free bun are available on every burger, which makes the brand inclusive.
3. Late-night notice and pickup promise
A highlighted banner reads “Late night hunger? Friday and Saturday we cook until 00:00. Order online and skip the queue.” – a simple but effective way to promote peak hours. The hero promises an average pickup of eight minutes and 100% Eifel beef.
4. Group, birthday and office-lunch booking
Walk-ins are welcome for one to five people, while larger groups can book a group table for 6–12 people, a kids-and-adults birthday party or an office lunch pickup for ten or more burgers. The form asks for group size, name, email, required phone and notes such as vegan needs, allergies or a cake. The restaurant gets predictable, high-value bookings.
5. Crew, reviews and answers
The team section tells the founder story; reviews (4.7 / 5 from 2,380) highlight reliability and the vegan burger; the FAQ explains delivery within 4 km, halal chicken, gluten-free options with a separate fryer and card-only payment.
