Griffwerk is a fictional bouldering gym in Dresden with 1,400 m² of walls, more than 300 boulders and a weekly route-setting rhythm. The demo shows how a climbing gym can turn curious first-timers into regular members – by removing the fear of the unknown and making it obvious which pass is the best value.
The problem this website solves
Many people are interested in bouldering but hesitate: Is it safe? Do I need experience? Do I need a partner? What should I wear? Gyms also lose money when visitors keep paying day-entry prices without realising a membership would be cheaper. This design addresses both: it welcomes beginners with a clear message – “No ropes. No partner. Just climb.” – and uses a calculator to guide each visitor to the right pass.
Key features in detail
1. Pass calculator
The visitor sets how many times per month they plan to climb (1–16), chooses an age group – adult, student or trainee, or kid under 14 – and ticks whether they need rental shoes. The tool compares three options: day entry (€13.50 for adults), the 10-visit card and membership (€49 per month, shoes included), and then names the best option, the estimated monthly cost and the cost per visit. With four visits per month and rental shoes, the demo recommends membership at about €49 per month, because day entry plus shoes would cost around €70. It is an honest, helpful tool – and a very effective way to convert occasional visitors into members.
2. Clear structure for every kind of climber
The climbing section presents six areas: the main hall with overhangs, slabs and a competition wall up to 4.5 m; a kids area for children from 4 years with soft mats (€8); a training area with Moonboard, Kilterboard, campus board and weights; a two-hour intro course (€29); kids birthdays for up to ten children (€189, 2.5 hours); and a café with a terrace. Colour-graded routes from yellow to black are explained, so beginners know exactly where to start.
3. Intro course, birthday and team-event booking
Normal visits need no booking, which the page says clearly – a great trust signal. For courses, kids birthdays, team events (from 8 people) and six-week kids courses, visitors pick a date and time, group size, and shoe size for rental. The confirmation reminds them to arrive 15 minutes early to sign the waiver. Kids birthdays and team events are high-value bookings that work much better through a clean form than via phone calls.
4. First-time FAQ and social proof
The FAQ answers the questions that stop people at the door: the mats are 40 cm thick, no experience is needed, comfortable sports clothes are fine and children can climb from 4 years with an adult. Reviews (4.9 / 5 from 780 reviews) tell stories about intro courses turning into three sessions a week and the best kids birthday ever.
