Heimat Rentals is a fictional rental and relocation agency in Berlin that helps newcomers find a flat, register their address and set up internet and electricity. This demo shows how a rental agency can win international clients – people who often start their search from another country, in another language, with no idea how the German rental market works.
The problem this website solves
Newcomers face queues of hundreds of people at viewings, unfamiliar documents such as SCHUFA reports and payslips, contracts in German and landlords who answer slowly. A normal agency site lists flats and a phone number. This design starts from the visitor’s real fear – “Can I even afford and get a flat here?” – and then removes the obstacles one by one: budget check, honest guidance, video viewings and multilingual support.
Key features in detail
1. Rent budget calculator
Visitors enter their household net income (€1,500–€12,000), the number of people moving in and whether they want a furnished flat. Using the common rule that landlords want rent below a third of net income, the tool calculates the maximum warm rent, the realistic flat size, the minimum space needed, the expected deposit (three cold rents) and a verdict on the chance of success. With the default values – €4,200 net income, one person, furnished – the demo shows a maximum warm rent of €1,400, about 52 m² (a 2-room flat) and an estimated deposit of around €3,300. It also reminds visitors that landlords ask for three recent payslips and a SCHUFA report, which builds trust through honesty.
2. Flats with transparent warm rent
Six offers show what is available right now: a furnished studio in Mitte (€1,190), a 58 m² altbau flat in Prenzlauer Berg (€1,640), a 78 m² unfurnished flat in Friedrichshain (€1,780), a family flat with garden in Pankow (€2,350), a shared-flat room (€690) and the Relocation Package (€890) that covers viewings, contract, Anmeldung and utilities. Each card shows move-in date and furnishing, so visitors can filter mentally in seconds.
3. Booking in five languages
The booking form lets visitors choose an online viewing by video, an in-person viewing, a free 20-minute search call or a relocation package consultation. They pick their language – English, Deutsch, Persian (فارسی), Español or Français – and add move-in date and job situation. The page promises contracts explained in the client’s own language and even remote signing for people still abroad.
4. A team that has been through it
The team section introduces consultants from several countries with the languages they speak. Reviews (4.8 / 5 from 520 reviews) tell real-feeling stories such as signing a flat by video from São Paulo and getting keys on the day of arrival. The FAQ explains warm rent, SCHUFA, who pays the agent fee and typical furnished lease lengths.
