TC Rheinaue is a fictional family tennis club in Bonn, founded in 1952, with nine clay courts by the Rhine, a two-court winter hall and a clubhouse terrace. The demo shows how a sports club can attract new members online – by explaining fees honestly, letting guests book courts in a minute and giving beginners an easy first step.
The problem this website solves
Many clubs have a website that looks like a notice board: a list of fees in a PDF, a phone number and a news page nobody updates. Newcomers do not know what membership really costs, whether they can try the sport first, or whether the club welcomes people like them. This design answers every one of those questions and turns the website into the club’s most effective membership brochure.
Key features in detail
1. Membership calculator
Visitors choose a membership – adult (€390), couple (€640), family (€760), student (€180) or youth under 18 (€120) – set how many hours they want to play per week, add the winter hall season if needed and indicate whether the one-off admission fee of €150 applies. The tool shows the total for the first year, the effective cost per hour on court and what the same hours would cost as a guest at €22 per hour. With the defaults – an adult playing two hours a week – the demo shows €540 in the first year, about €9 per hour on court, compared with roughly €1,320 as a guest. It also lists what is included: five free coaching hours and league play. For a hesitant newcomer this is the strongest possible argument.
2. Club overview for every age
The club section presents courts (guests €22 per hour), group coaching (€19 per hour in groups of four), a kids and youth programme from age 4 (from €35 per month), 14 league teams from U12 to 60+, five-day summer camps (€219) and the clubhouse terrace. Families see immediately that there is a place for children, adults and seniors.
3. Court and lesson booking
Guests can book a court (€22), a free trial lesson, a kids trial (ages 4–12) or a private lesson (€48). They pick a court group or the hall, state their level and receive a confirmation with a promise that a court code arrives by email an hour before play. The page notes that rackets can be borrowed and clay shoes are recommended – exactly the practical detail beginners worry about.
4. Coaches, reviews and a friendly FAQ
Licensed DTB coaches are introduced with their languages. Reviews (4.8 / 5 from 190) include stories such as joining at 52 and now playing league every Sunday. The FAQ explains that guests can play without membership, that there is no waiting list and that adult members help four hours a year or pay €60 instead – honest information that avoids unpleasant surprises later.
