Blau Kaffee is a fictional specialty coffee roastery and café in Leipzig: single-origin beans roasted twice a week in the back, cakes baked every morning, brunch at the weekend and small-group coffee classes. The demo shows how a café can use its website to do three things that matter – sell coffee faster, fill brunch tables and sell classes and beans on top.
The problem this website solves
A café’s busiest moments are also its weakest: queues at the counter in the morning rush and full tables at the weekend with people turned away. Meanwhile, the extra products – classes, beans, cakes to take home – are rarely visible online. This design lets customers order ahead and collect in about ten minutes, book weekend brunch tables and discover classes without calling or leaving a message.
Key features in detail
1. Order ahead for pickup
The order builder lists drinks, bakery items and beans in three groups. Coffee includes a flat white (€3.60, oat milk free), a cappuccino (€3.40), a V60 filter from Ethiopia (€4.20) and an iced latte (€4.10). Bakery offers a cinnamon bun (€3.20), vegan banana bread (€3.40) and sourdough toast with house-made jam (€4.50). Take home sells 250 g of house-blend beans (€9.90). Customers tick what they want and the total updates live – for example, a flat white and a cinnamon bun come to €6.80. They pay at the counter or with the app, the order is held for 20 minutes and the café avoids both queues and cash handling. For commuters, this is a reason to choose the café every morning.
2. A menu that sells coffee culture
The menu section presents espresso drinks (from €2.60), hand-brewed filter coffee from Ethiopia, Colombia and Kenya (€3.40), weekend brunch (from €9.50, until 15:00), daily cakes (from €3.20), beans to go (from €9.90) and classes (€45). A note says all milk alternatives are free and most cakes are available vegan – a detail guests notice and share.
3. Brunch tables and classes
The booking section offers a brunch table (Saturday and Sunday, held for 15 minutes), a latte art class (€45, two hours), a home brewing class (€45, 90 minutes) and a free Friday cupping session. The page also says which tables are laptop-friendly on weekdays and that classes include coffee and cake. A reminder is sent the evening before, which cuts no-shows.
4. Team, reviews and FAQ
The team is introduced with a roaster, a latte-art champion and a baker. Reviews (4.8 / 5 from 1,120) mention ordering ahead on the way to the tram and the cinnamon buns that sell out by 11. The FAQ answers weekday Wi-Fi, free oat milk, dogs (welcome, with water bowls) and online bean sales shipped within Germany every Tuesday and Friday.
