Glut is a fictional fine-dining restaurant on the Hamburg waterfront: 28 seats, one open fire and a seven-course tasting menu cooked over beech and oak with produce from farms around the Elbe. The demo shows how a high-end restaurant can sell its experience online, explain its prices honestly and secure tables with deposits – without losing the atmosphere of a special evening.
The problem this website solves
Fine dining customers decide before they arrive. They want to know what the evening looks like, how long it lasts, what it costs per person with wine, whether dietary needs are respected and how they can be sure the table is really theirs. Many restaurant websites hide prices or force a phone call. At the same time, restaurants with few seats lose thousands of euros to no-shows. This design answers every question upfront and protects the restaurant with a clear deposit policy.
Key features in detail
1. Tasting menu planner
The planner lets guests choose the number of guests (1–8), the menu – five courses (€119), seven courses (€149) or the chef table (€189) – and the pairing: none, wine pairing (€79) or zero-proof pairing (€55), plus a tick for celebrations. The tool shows the total, the price per guest, the duration (about 2.5 or 3.5 hours), a small surprise for celebrations and the deposit (€50 per guest, credited on the night). With the default two guests, seven courses and wine pairing, the demo shows €456 in total, or €228 per guest. Price transparency builds trust, and the guest has already decided before reserving.
2. Evenings presented like a menu
Six offers are listed: five courses (Wed–Thu, €119), seven courses (Wed–Sat, €149), chef table with six seats at the fire (Fri–Sat, €189), wine pairing with natural and classic wines from small European growers (€79), a zero-proof pairing of ferments, teas and pressed juices (€55) and private dining for up to 28 guests from €4,200. The zero-proof pairing is a modern, inclusive detail that restaurant critics love.
3. Reservation with deposit
Tables are released 60 days ahead, deposits are €50 per guest and credited on the night, cancellation is free up to 72 hours before and allergies are collected at booking. After the form the guest receives a link to pay the deposit, and the table is held for 24 hours. The process is professional, calm and clear – exactly what guests expect at this level.
4. The kitchen, the reviews and the unspoken questions
The page introduces the chef, the sous chef and the sommelière with their languages and specialities. Reviews (4.9 / 5 from 640) include a restaurant critic and a couple celebrating an anniversary at the chef table. The FAQ covers the questions guests are shy to ask: no dress code, full vegetarian menu, bringing own wine (corkage €35 per bottle, maximum two) and gift vouchers.
